Hinemoana is the goddess of the ocean currents, waves, seafood and fish. She is forever washing upon the shores of Papatuanuku, Mother Earth and it is here we see her rise and fall with the tides that control and dictate a whole ecosystem of life. The shell fish and food we are able to source along the seashore reminds us how very important she is for our health and wellbeing. There are now many beaches in Aotearoa where the shellfish is no longer there or it has been poisoned with pollution.
